Teen Driver: Driving + Observation
Teen Driver: Driving + Observation
For Teen Drivers completing an INSTRUCTOR-LED driving course
Service Description
Our 'Driving + Observation' service allots 2 hours for teen drivers to do both their driving and observation sessions. The lesson is structured so that the student completes a driving hour first, and then will do their observation for the second hour. Traditionally, we pair students so that while one student drives, the other student is 'observing' as the instructor guides the driver through their route. During each student's drive time, the instructor will be guiding through particular skills they will be working on for that lesson ( basic controls, residential driving, highway driving, etc.) If a single student is participating during the lesson, the instructor will drive during the Observation Hour. This will allow the instructor to review the skills they practiced along their route as well as provide guidance on road rules and driver behaviors they may encounter on their route. Students MUST have their Texas Learner's Permit for every session, no exceptions. If student does not have a permit, the session will need to be cancelled and is subject to a $25 rescheduling fee. Teen drivers completing an instructor-led* Texas Teen Driver's Education course are required to complete their behind-the-wheel portion of the course with a licensed instructor. This means that the teen driver will need to complete 7 hours of driving and 7 hours of observation for a total of 14 hours behind-the-wheel.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations within 24 hours of lesson are subject to a $25 rescheduling fee for Driving Lessons/Observation Hours and $30 rescheduling fee for Driving Exams. Missed lessons cannot be rescheduled and are non refundable.
